Abstract:
A-infinity algebras generalize associative algebras by incorporating higher homotopies through a sequence of multilinear operations. Motivated by the desire to reconstruct a multiplication on the cochain complex from the induced operation on its cohomology, A-infinity algebras provide a natural framework for this purpose. In this talk, I will introduce the basic definition, examples and properties of A-infinity algebras. If time permits, I will also discuss a coalgebraic approach to A-infinity algebras. ‭
