Abstract:
The theory of L-functions offers a robust framework for investigating the arithmetic properties of integers and, more generally, integers in number fields. This approach involves translating these properties into the analytic behavior of specific functions, which can then be studied using tools from analysis. In this series of talks, Dr. Chien-Hua Chen will introduce Artin L-functions, following Horawa’s notes, starting with the abelian case and extending to the general case. The aim of his talks is to provide an overview of key topics, including Brauer’s Theorem, Artin representations, and Artin conductors, among others.
