Abstract: The Laplace-Beltrami operator, or more generally, the Hodge Laplacian, is arguably the most important differential operator in Riemannian geometry. The talk is an attempt to providing an overview on the most basic aspects concerning its analysis, with emphasis on spectrum, heat kernel and Green’s function. Along the way, applications and open questions will also be mentioned.
