學術演講-Modeling ultrasonic wave scattering from cracks and holes in thin plates
Abstract
This talk focuses on modeling scattering generated by ultrasonic waves impinging on cracks emanating from a cylindrical hole in a thin plates. This class of damage is a topic of great interest among structural health monitoring and non-destructive evaluation communities and has specific
applications in the aviation industry. Accurate numerical modeling of damage is a prerequisite for reliable model-based detection algorithms. I will provide an overview of modeling simulated Lamb wave signals in damaged plates by using the Combined Analytical FEM Approach (CAFA), discuss
analytical underpinnings of the problem, and share recent results of statistical sensitivity analysis on Lamb wave sensor system designs.
