訪問學者學術演講-An Ergodic Theorem for Quantum Operations
Abstract:
Quantum operations are the fundamental operations in quantum theory. They include both unitary and classical Markovian operators and anything between the two. It is a fundamental problem to determine when a quantum operation has the ergodic property. In this talk, I will discuss the background, the motivation from quantum computational point of view, and give a sufficient condition for a quantum operation to have the ergodic property. I will also discuss how it can be applied to obtain the limiting distribution of partially decoherent quantum random walks. Joint work with Matthew Lagro.
