Study Guide for Chapter 3: Derivatives.
Chapter 3:
- The rules for differentiation such as Power rule, sum
and difference rule, product rule and quotient rules
are important, but since you have already learned it in
high school, I will not be emphasizing them.
- Basically, you can skip section 3.3 as you have learned it
in high school physics.
- The derivatives of trigonometric functions are important,
you should memorize the results, and be able to quickly
derive it once you forget it.
- The chain rule for composition of more than two functions
(ie. f(g(h(x)))' = ?) are of fundamental importance. I
strongly recommend you practice the latter half of the
excercise for 3.5 (49-70) till you can handle it with easily.
- More later.
