(Pre)history

The Chinese Journal of Mathematics (CJM) was started as a biannual journal in 1973 published jointly by the Mathematics Research Center (of the National Science Council of ROC) and the Mathematical Society of the Republic of China with the editorial task carried out by mathematicians in National Taiwan University.

In 1983, CJM was changed to a quarterly journal, published in March, June, September and December every year.

Since 1995, CJM was published solely by the Society, becoming its official publication, and financially supported by the National Science Council. The Society appointed one editor-in-chief and ten editors to perform the editorial job.

CJM was renamed the Taiwanese Journal of Mathematics (TJM), which started its volume one in 1997.

In 1998, TJM enlarged its editorial board to consist of one editor-in-chief, one advisory editor and twenty associate editors, and established its website at http://
www.math.nthu.edu.tw/tjm/ .

From 1999 on, the editorial board is further enlarged to have one editor-in-chief, one advisory editor and twenty-four associate editors. The TJM also starts to institute the page charge policy.

Starting from 1998, papers in TJM are indexed in ISI products such as CompuMath Citation Index, Current Contents/Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences, Reserach Alert and Science Citation Index Expanded.
